AIRESA strengthens its recycling capacity with two new processing lines for post-industrial plastic materials.
At the end of July, AIRESA launched an extrusion line at our plant, representing an investment of one million euros. The new line, specifically designed for the processing of high- and low-density polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, and PC/ABS blends, has a production capacity of 8,400 tons per year. One of its main features is the possibility of working with flexible materials, thanks to the incorporation of an integrated agglomerator.
The new extruder allows us not only to expand our production volume, but also to better adapt to the needs of our customers, who demand higher-quality recycled materials in greater quantities.
This equipment is added to a new shredding and crushing line that we launched at the same plant in March of this year. This installation, which represented an investment of €300,000, has a processing capacity of 4,800 tons/year and represented a substantial operational improvement for the plant. This line includes a pit for bulk unloading, a conveyor belt with a metal detector, a ripper, and a shredder, and is configured to adapt to a wide variety of plastic waste, especially those generated by industrial processes.
These investments reinforce AIRESA's goal, which specializes in the treatment of post-industrial plastic waste, of transforming our customers' waste into new raw materials, ready to be reintegrated into the production process. These raw materials are certified according to UNE 15343, which guarantees 100% recycled plastic content.
The two new lines are added to the plant's existing washing and optical separation infrastructure. AIRESA's machinery fleet includes two washing lines, one for polyolefins (PP, PE) and another for densifying technical materials (ABS, PC, PET), as well as an optical separator, which allows for color sorting of plastic waste, in response to the growing market interest in increasingly specific recycled materials.
With these new investments, AIRESA strengthens its position as a key player in post-industrial recycling, offering our customers comprehensive solutions to close the plastics cycle, reducing environmental impact and optimizing material reuse.
"At AIRESA, we work every day to ensure our customers can give their waste a second life. Thanks to our new lines, we're not only increasing our response capacity, but also improving the quality and traceability of the recycled material we return to the market."
